Senior Cloud Software Engineer - Golang

About the role

Jungheinrich Digital Solutions is looking for a Senior Cloud Software Engineer for its IoT Platform Team in Zagreb. You will help build a secure, scalable, cloud-native infrastructure for connected devices and services, covering backend, tooling and infrastructure. The team follows the philosophy "you build it, you run it", from device onboarding and data ingestion to integration with enterprise systems.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, optimize and operate cloud-based products across backend, tools and infrastructure.
• Build robust backend services with Go or Kotlin.
• Own the full software development lifecycle, from architecture and implementation to deployment and operations.
• Apply a DevOps mindset: monitor production solutions, write well-tested code and continuously improve deployments (CI/CD).
• Work in agile, self-organized teams, taking part in code reviews, pair/mob programming and technical analysis.
• Support scaling, performance and high availability with cloud-native architectures (AWS or Azure) and infrastructure-as-code tools.
• Take part in technical planning and prioritization aligned with business value.

Required profile

• Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or equivalent professional experience.
• Proven experience building and operating modern applications and cloud services.
• Experience with IoT platforms is a plus.
• C1-level English; German is a plus.
• Comfortable using AI-assisted tools throughout the software development lifecycle.

Required skills

• Backend languages such as Go or Kotlin.
• Cloud platforms, preferably AWS or Azure.
• Infrastructure as code (Pulumi, Terraform, CDK) and monitoring/observability tools.
• REST APIs, microservices, event-driven architectures and domain-driven design.
• Relational or NoSQL databases.
• Scrum or Kanban; clean code, unit and integration testing.
