Freelance Lead Auditor - IFS, FSSC 22000, BRC

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Lead Auditor to conduct food safety audits on a freelance, call‑based basis across food production, processing and distribution facilities in Croatia. The role offers flexibility and aligns with our audit planning calendar.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, execute and report audits against IFS, FSSC 22000, BRC and other recognised food safety schemes.
• Lead audit teams, assess compliance with HACCP, traceability, allergen management and hygiene practices.
• Document findings, non‑conformities and corrective‑action recommendations in detailed audit reports.
• Communicate results to facility management, quality teams and client stakeholders.
• Maintain audit documentation and provide technical guidance on food safety best practices.

Required profile

• Current IFS, FSSC 22000 or BRC Lead Auditor certification (mandatory) and proven experience auditing food manufacturing, processing or cold‑chain facilities.
• Preferred multi‑scheme certification (IFS + FSSC 22000 + BRC), knowledge of ISO 22000, ISO 9001 and EU food safety regulations (EC 852/2004, EC 853/2004) plus Croatian food law.
