Commercial Manager

About the role

We are seeking an experienced, strategically minded Commercial Manager to lead the commercial strategy of Rijeka Gateway, develop business opportunities and build strong customer and partner relationships.

Key responsibilities

• Set and deliver annual commercial objectives aligned with the terminal’s strategy and business plan.
• Develop and implement commercial strategy, value propositions and sales/marketing programmes to achieve revenue, profitability, volume and market‑share targets.
• Identify new business opportunities and create logistics and supply‑chain solutions tailored to customer needs.
• Maintain high customer satisfaction through professional, reliable, high‑quality service.
• Engage regularly with customers, partners and stakeholders to understand needs and address commercial matters.
• Support operations, legal, facility and HSSE teams on projects and dealings with customs and authorities.
• Monitor commercial opportunities and risks, maintain records and develop mitigation strategies.

Required profile

• University degree in economics, trade, business administration or related field.
• At least five years of relevant commercial experience in logistics, shipping, terminal business or asset management.
• Excellent leadership and stakeholder management skills with a strong team‑oriented approach.
• Experience working with public authorities, customers and business stakeholders in a logistics or supply‑chain environment.
• Good understanding of port activities and container terminal operations.
• Advanced spoken and written English; knowledge of Croatian is important for local cooperation.
