About the role

Pharmas d.o.o is seeking a temporary replacement for the Head of the Microbiology Laboratory and Quality Control team in Popovača. The role oversees the microbiology lab, ensures compliance with GMP, and coordinates analytical activities for medicines and food supplements.

Key responsibilities

• Organise, plan and coordinate work of the Microbiology Laboratory and control team.
• Coordinate activities with other quality‑control units and laboratories.
• Review, approve and verify microbiological analyses and related documentation.
• Assess analytical documentation, evaluate test results and issue analytical decisions (AO) for pharmaceuticals and supplements.
• Issue product analysis results and participate in method development and implementation.
• Prepare, review and approve SOPs, work instructions and quality‑system documents.
• Manage procurement of laboratory equipment, consumables and chemicals.
• Oversee equipment calibration, re‑qualification and external sample testing.
• Train new laboratory staff and support continuous improvement of the quality system in line with GMP.

Required profile

• University degree in Pharmacy, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Food‑Biotechnology or related natural science.
• Experience in a pharmaceutical quality‑control laboratory, preferably microbiology.
• Proven team‑leadership and organisational experience.
• Strong knowledge of GMP requirements and quality‑system operations.
• Experience reviewing analytical documentation and making AO decisions.
• Active spoken and written English.
