About the role

We are looking for a Lead Scientific Associate – Analyst focused on the characterization and development of active pharmaceutical ingredients, excipients and finished products. The role is based in Zagreb and will work within a multidisciplinary project team to support product development from method creation to regulatory registration.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, optimise and, when required, validate complex analytical methods for APIs, excipients and finished products.
• Characterise reference products and APIs using advanced analytical techniques.
• Participate in formulation development and in QbD/DoE activities throughout product development.
• Prepare analytical documentation for product development and registration.
• Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary team members and provide analytical expertise.

Required profile

• University degree (minimum 300 ECTS) in chemistry, molecular biology, chemical engineering, pharmacy or related natural science.
• Preferably at least 5 years of experience in an analytical laboratory.
• Strong command of spoken and written English.
• Good knowledge of GMP requirements, good documentation practice and the pharmaceutical regulatory environment.

Required skills

• Liquid chromatography (LC) and related separation techniques.
• Mass spectrometry (MS) and related data analysis.
• Peptide, oligonucleotide or monoclonal antibody analysis.
• Design of Experiments (DoE) and Quality by Design (QbD) approaches.
• Proficiency with MS Office tools.
