About the role

KONČAR d.d. is looking for a motivated Development Engineer Trainee to join its R&D team in Zagreb. The position offers hands‑on experience in the design and improvement of medium‑voltage (MV) and high‑voltage (HV) switchgear projects, working closely with multidisciplinary experts.

Key responsibilities

• Participate in the development of new KONČAR medium‑voltage switchgear devices.
• Assist in the enhancement of a 145 kV high‑voltage GIS installation.
• Support engineering analyses, calculations and technical documentation for development projects.
• Collaborate with construction, testing, technology, production and procurement teams.

Required profile

• Completed secondary school (VSS) in mechanical or electrical engineering (preferred: construction, energy, electrical machines).
• Basic computer literacy.
• Willingness to work in a development environment and engage in continuous learning.
• Analytical mindset, responsibility and ability to work in a team.

Required skills

• Basic knowledge of Ansys software (Mechanical, Fluent, Maxwell, etc.).
• Familiarity with Creo CAD tools.
