About the role

As part of the Asuka Japanese restaurant team in central Zagreb, you will work as an assistant chef, supporting the kitchen in preparing authentic Japanese dishes, especially sushi, sashimi, and nigiri. The role requires energy, dedication, and a passion for high‑quality food service.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare sushi, sashimi, nigiri, simple hot dishes and Japanese sauces.
• Store and manage food inventory.
• Check the correctness of ingredients and monitor preparation and quality of dishes.
• Record dish preparation and ensure compliance with culinary standards.
• Maintain all sanitary and occupational safety regulations.
• Perform additional tasks assigned by the kitchen manager, within your expertise.

Required profile

• Experience in sushi and Japanese cuisine preparation.
• Attention to detail and commitment to food safety.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast‑paced restaurant environment.
• Team‑oriented attitude and willingness to follow the manager’s instructions.
