Junior Production Manager

About the role

The Junior Production Manager will lead a manufacturing line for a tobacco products company, ensuring production targets, quality standards, cost efficiency, and on‑time delivery are met. This position reports to senior operations leadership and works closely with cross‑functional teams.

Key responsibilities

• Manage day‑to‑day operations of the production line to achieve volume, quality, cost and delivery goals.
• Initiate and execute continuous‑improvement projects aimed at reducing waste, increasing productivity and optimizing resource use.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental (EHS) standards, internal policies and regulatory requirements.
• Develop, coach and lead a high‑performing team, fostering skill growth and engagement.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Quality, Logistics and other stakeholders to maximise operational efficiency.
• Drive implementation of the Integrated Work System (IWS) and promote a culture of innovation and accountability.
• Support maintenance activities, investment projects and operational‑excellence initiatives within the plant.

Required profile

• Technical education with relevant experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Proven track record of leading teams and motivating staff.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Knowledge of production processes, quality systems and EWS standards.
• Experience applying continuous‑improvement methodologies and production management systems.
• Excellent communication skills and stakeholder‑management capability.
• Valid Category B driver’s licence (mandatory).
