Junior Accounting Specialist (m/w/d)

About the role

grenke, a publicly listed European leasing, banking and factoring group, is looking for a detail-oriented Junior Accounting Specialist in Zagreb. It suits someone early in their accounting career who wants hands-on experience in a dynamic, international environment, working closely with experienced finance professionals.

Key responsibilities

• Complete accounting management, including monthly, quarterly and yearly period closing activities
• General ledger postings and verifying, allocating and posting business transactions
• Prepare and submit tax returns, including corporate income tax and sales tax returns
• Maintain and update accounting records and files, electronically and physically
• Assist in financial audits, internal and external reporting, and contribute to monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements
• Post incoming invoices and credit notes
• Act as contact person for the administration and sales departments on creditor accounts and the accounting system
• Collaborate with and report to the company headquarters in Germany

Required profile

• Completed studies focused on finance and accounting
• At least 1 year of professional accounting experience (e.g. internship)
• Young professional with a growth mindset and interest in finance and accounting
• Fluent English (spoken and written); German is an advantage
• Advantages: group reporting experience, financial services or audit background

Required skills

• Very good MS Office knowledge
• Affinity with numbers and a structured way of working
