Senior Accountant (Payroll Specialist Option)

About the role

CONEO Zagreb d.o.o., part of the international tax advisory and audit firm CONEO Group, is hiring two Senior Accountants; depending on specialization, one of them can also work as a Payroll Specialist. The role covers independent management of accounting records for several companies, including VAT returns, fixed assets and annual financial statements.

Key responsibilities

• Independently manage accounting records for multiple companies
• Process incoming and outgoing invoices and record and monitor all business transactions
• Calculate VAT and submit VAT returns
• Manage fixed assets and verify received documentation
• Prepare annual financial statements and corporate income tax returns
• Post and control general ledger accounts
• Monitor and implement accounting, financial and tax regulations
• Prepare statistical reports and communicate with institutions such as the Tax Administration, FINA, pension and health insurance funds and the Croatian Bureau of Statistics

Required profile

• 3 to 5 years of relevant work experience
• Bachelor's degree or higher (university or professional studies)
• English language
• Knowledge of accounting regulations
• Motivation, independence, responsibility, proactivity, team spirit, strong organisation and time management, analytical thinking

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office
• Advantages: experience with Pantheon accounting software, an international environment and an accounting firm
