Lead Machine Learning Engineer

About the role

Intuition Machines builds enterprise security products with an AI/ML focus, including the hCaptcha security suite, and is looking for a Lead Machine Learning Engineer. The role leads large-scale ML projects from inception to production, makes key architectural decisions and mentors other ML engineers. It is a fully remote position with flexible working hours.

Key responsibilities

• Lead large-scale ML projects and products from design and implementation through deployment and maintenance.
• Make key architectural decisions so solutions are scalable, efficient and maintainable, balancing business and technical constraints.
• Drive collaboration across ML and engineering teams and influence technical discussions at all levels.
• Design and implement state-of-the-art ML pipelines and models that impact millions of users.
• Set technical standards and lead the development of scalable, testable, high-performance applications.
• Mentor other ML engineers and help build a strong ML engineering organization.

Required profile

• 7+ years of experience building and maintaining large-scale production ML systems focused on performance, scalability and reliability.
• Proven ownership or major contribution to products used by tens of thousands of customers, with complex design decisions.
• Experience leading technical discussions, driving decisions and setting technical standards for a team.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, able to explain complex technical topics to technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Required skills

• Machine learning algorithms, productionizing ML models and scaling systems for large data volumes.
• Familiarity with Kubernetes, containerization and microservice design, and distributed systems.
• Ability to define and segment complex research problems and turn them into business-aligned solutions.
