Senior UX Designer (Research Focus)

About the role

DEPT is looking for a Senior UX Designer with a focus on research to join one of its key client teams in Zagreb, Split, on a hybrid basis. As a user researcher, you help product teams make confident, customer-centred decisions by uncovering real user needs, motivations and behaviours, and turning insights into action. You will shape how research contributes to the development of digital products and services, from exploring AI adoption to supporting journey-driven product thinking.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and conduct user research, from exploratory discovery to usability tests and concept validations
• Frame research questions and help teams explore problem spaces before jumping into solutions
• Analyse results, document insights and share them so they support product and design decisions
• Work closely with designers, product managers and developers in a cross-functional team
• Help develop research standards and ways of working that scale across teams
• Advocate for a journey-driven, evidence-based approach to product development

Required profile

• Over 5 years of experience in user research, ideally at an agency and in agile, product-focused environments
• Ability to make research results clear and actionable for designers, product managers and stakeholders
• Confidence in facilitating sessions, speaking with users and contributing to product strategy
• Proactive, hands-on approach and curiosity about evolving methods
• English working proficiency; German is a strong plus
