Senior System/Cloud Engineer

About the role

Ergomed Group, which supports biopharmaceutical companies in developing, delivering and safeguarding therapies in oncology, rare disease and other complex areas of medicine, is hiring a Senior System/Cloud Engineer in Zagreb. The role leads IT infrastructure projects and provides technical leadership in cloud adoption, migration and hybrid cloud environments.

Key responsibilities

• Lead IT infrastructure projects aligned with business objectives and best practices.
• Provide technical leadership in cloud adoption, migration strategies and hybrid cloud environments.
• Optimize cloud costs, performance and security through continuous assessment and innovation.
• Implement and enforce cloud governance, compliance and security frameworks.
• Automate cloud infrastructure deployment and management using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools.
• Troubleshoot complex system and network issues to ensure high availability and reliability.
• Collaborate with IT and application teams to improve automation, deployment processes and workflows.
• Develop and enforce IT policies and procedures for cloud operations.
• Administer SharePoint Online, including site architecture, permissions, governance, security, lifecycle management and integration with Microsoft 365.
• Provide Tier 3 support for Microsoft 365, Exchange Online, Teams, OneDrive, identity and access management, security, compliance and incident resolution.
• Support internal and external audits with technical support, documentation and evidence.
• Mentor junior engineers and train the IT team.

Required profile

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field.
• 7+ years of experience in IT system engineering, cloud architecture or a related role.
• Leadership capacity, strong problem-solving, communication, documentation and stakeholder management skills.
• Familiarity with GxP and GAMP5, and familiarity with ITIL and enterprise IT frameworks is an advantage.

Required skills

• Expert knowledge of Microsoft Azure (Virtual Machines, Azure AD, Networking, Storage, Security).
• Strong SharePoint Online administration and Microsoft 365 integration.
• IaC tools such as Terraform.
• Automation and scripting with PowerShell, Python or similar.
• Networking, security protocols, VPNs and firewall management.
• DevOps practices, virtualization, containerization and cloud cost optimization.
• Advanced Azure certifications (AZ-305, AZ-400, SC-500) and multi-cloud or hybrid cloud experience are highly desirable.
