Senior AI Engineer

About the role

Burai is an AI‑driven productivity platform that integrates intelligent agents into Office365 and Google Workspace to automate workflows. As a Senior AI Engineer you will design and build scalable AI systems that power multi‑tenant SaaS services.

Key responsibilities

• Design and architect scalable AI systems, including data pipelines and inference endpoints for a multi‑tenant SaaS environment.
• Build advanced AI agents using Retrieval‑Augmented Generation (RAG) and agentic frameworks to automate dynamic workflows.
• Integrate and optimise large language models (LLMs) with sophisticated prompting and evaluation strategies.
• Develop machine‑learning pipelines covering feature engineering, model training and continuous improvement.
• Create robust vector‑based retrieval systems and scalable APIs with FastAPI.
• Deploy, monitor and manage AI services on Azure, ensuring reliability, security and scalability.
• Integrate Google ADK for speech, vision and data insights, and orchestrate high‑performing agents in a SaaS multi‑tenant setting.
• Prototype cutting‑edge generative AI technologies and mentor engineering teams on best practices.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field.
• 5+ years of backend and AI engineering experience, with at least 3 years building LLM‑based applications at scale.
• Strong system design and architecture capabilities for complex, scalable solutions.
• Excellent communication, leadership and problem‑solving abilities.

Required skills

• Python programming and software engineering best practices.
• FastAPI and RESTful API development.
• SQL (transactional and analytical) and experience with PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Neo4j.
• LLM frameworks: LangChain, Hugging Face, PyTorch, TensorFlow.
• Vector databases: Pinecone, Qdrant, Weaviate, Milvus.
• Containerisation and orchestration: Docker, Kubernetes.
• Cloud platforms: Azure (required), with experience in AWS or GCP a plus.
• CI/CD pipeline implementation.
