Senior Accountant / Glavni knjigovođa

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Accountant to join our finance team in Zagreb. The role involves managing local accounting, tax compliance, payroll and financial reporting for our growing yacht charter business.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare VAT documentation and submit VAT returns.
• Post and process incoming and outgoing invoices, travel orders and mileage records.
• Reconcile customer and supplier account balances and record URA/IRA books.
• Calculate and disburse payroll.
• Maintain the general ledger and ensure alignment with analytical records.
• Manage cash‑book accounting and oversee retail operations.
• Produce reports for public disclosure, statistics and internal analysis.
• Assist in the preparation of year‑end accounts and periodic financial statements.
• Monitor and implement current accounting, tax and finance regulations.
• Plan, organize and supervise the company’s financial activities.
• Ensure accuracy and timeliness of all financial transactions and reports.
• Collaborate with external auditors, tax advisors and regulatory bodies.
• Mentor and coordinate junior accounting team members, when applicable.

Required profile

• Minimum five years of experience in a similar accounting position.
• Excellent spoken and written English.
• Familiarity with 4D‑WAND and Pantheon accounting software is a plus.
• Experience in the tourism sector is desirable.
• Proficient with the MS Office suite.
• Organised, proactive and able to work independently.
