About the role

We are looking for an independent accountant/bookkeeper to join our team in Zagreb. The successful candidate will be responsible for the full spectrum of accounting and bookkeeping activities for a stable company operating in the non‑profit sector.

Key responsibilities

• Independently perform accounting and bookkeeping tasks.
• Post and control entries of invoices, statements and other documentation.
• Maintain and reconcile customer and supplier accounts, including URA and IRA ledgers, VAT calculations and OPZ‑STAT reporting.
• Manage analytical accounting of fixed assets, calculate depreciation and handle petty inventory.
• Monitor and apply relevant accounting and finance legislation.
• Calculate employee payroll.
• Prepare final accounts, financial statements and analyses.
• Produce all statutory reports for tax authorities and other regulators.
• Control and compute travel orders, process payroll and submit JOPPD forms.
• Perform additional accounting and bookkeeping duties as required.

Required profile

• Higher education in economics (SSS/VŠS/VSS).
• Proven experience with the listed accounting tasks.
• Good knowledge of accounting laws and regulations.
• Familiarity with work in associations and non‑profit organisations.
• Strong communication and organisational abilities.
