About the role

The Special Hospital for Ophthalmology Svjetlost is seeking a qualified and motivated Medical Nurse or Medical Technician to join its modern ophthalmology team. The successful candidate will support patient care and assist physicians in a high‑quality clinical environment.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare patients for ophthalmologic examinations and diagnostic procedures.
• Assist doctors during examinations and medical procedures.
• Provide nursing care within the scope of professional competence.
• Operate and maintain medical and diagnostic equipment.
• Prepare required materials and instruments for each procedure.
• Maintain and update medical documentation accurately.
• Communicate with patients, offering information about preparation for exams or interventions.
• Collaborate with doctors, nurses/technicians, and other healthcare team members.
• Adhere to established standards, hygiene measures, and patient safety protocols.
• Perform other duties related to the nursing/technician role as needed.

Required profile

• Completed secondary education for nurses/technicians or equivalent higher education.
• License for independent practice from the relevant professional chamber, if applicable.
• Responsibility, precision, and reliability in work.
• Strong communication skills and a professional attitude toward patients.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Good computer literacy.
• Basic knowledge of English is desirable.
• Previous experience in similar positions is an advantage but not mandatory.
