About the role

We are looking for an Accounting Referent (male/female) to join our finance team in Velika Gorica. The role involves handling all accounting entries, ensuring compliance with regulations, and supporting internal reporting for a transport services company.

Key responsibilities

• Record all business transactions, including posting incoming and outgoing invoices, bank statements, travel orders, and cash receipts.
• Control the main and subsidiary ledgers.
• Prepare and maintain internal financial reports.
• Assemble documentation for audits.
• Coordinate with customers and suppliers.
• Archive financial documents.
• Communicate with colleagues across departments, related companies, and public institutions.
• Process supplier payments and develop payment plans.
• Review, propose, and implement new accounting processes while improving existing ones.
• Identify processes for improvement and automation.
• Monitor legislative changes in accounting and tax law.

Required profile

• Higher education in economics or related field.
• Proficiency in MS Office.
• Fluent spoken and written English.
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
• Accuracy, timeliness, proactivity, systematic approach, and responsibility.
• Knowledge of accounting, tax and finance regulations and standards.
