Finance Accountant (m/f) – Temporary 18‑month role

About the role

We are looking for a Finance Accountant to join our Zagreb office on an 18‑month fixed‑term contract covering maternity leave. You will work in a hybrid setting, supporting the Finance department to meet both internal standards and external regulatory requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure the Finance department complies with Herbalife standards and Sarbanes‑Oxley Act requirements.
• Liaise with the regional finance team on country‑specific financial queries.
• Assist in preparing monthly financial statements and EMEA management reports within tight deadlines.
• Prepare and file corporate tax returns, including VAT, income tax and social security contributions.
• Reconcile balance‑sheet accounts, including inter‑company balances, on a monthly basis.
• Respond promptly to corporate and local information requests.
• Perform administrative finance activities and uphold company policies.

Required profile

• 2‑3 years of experience in an accounting environment.
• Good knowledge of local corporate and income taxes and local GAAP.
• Experience in an international company, preferably with a US parent, is a plus.
• Professional communication skills with financial institutions, members and internal staff.
• Ability to work independently, maintain confidentiality and handle extended hours when needed.

Required skills

• Proficiency with PC‑based accounting systems.
• Advanced Excel skills.
