Finance Accountant (m/f) – 18‑month temporary role

About the role

We are looking for a Finance Accountant to join our Zagreb office for an 18‑month fixed‑term assignment covering maternity leave. The role supports the Finance department in meeting Herbalife standards and ensures accurate statutory reporting and tax compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare monthly financial statements and EMEA management reports on tight deadlines.
• Reconcile balance sheets, including inter‑company accounts, each month.
• Assist with the preparation and filing of corporate tax returns, VAT, social security and other statutory obligations.
• Ensure compliance with Sarbanes‑Oxley, local GAAP, and VAT registration requirements.
• Liaise with the regional finance team on country‑specific queries and respond promptly to corporate and local information requests.
• Perform administrative finance activities and uphold company policies and regulations.

Required profile

• 2‑3 years of experience in an accounting environment.
• Good knowledge of local corporate and income taxes and local GAAP.
• Experience in an international company, preferably with a US parent, is advantageous.
• Professional communication skills with financial institutions, members and local staff.
• Ability to work independently, maintain confidentiality and adapt to evolving processes.

Required skills

• Proficiency with PC‑based accounting systems.
• Advanced Excel skills.
