Laboratory and Operations Assistant

About the role

GenePlanet is seeking a Laboratory and Operations Assistant to support its cutting‑edge genomics laboratory in Zagreb. You will work with a young, international team to ensure smooth laboratory operations and high‑quality sample processing.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor inventory levels and quality of chemicals and consumables.
• Maintain and calibrate laboratory equipment.
• Perform a wide range of laboratory tests.
• Coordinate sample preparation and processing for analysis.
• Conduct quality‑control measures throughout the workflow.

Required profile

• Degree in Biological Sciences, Biotechnology or related natural science field.
• Experience in medical or health‑related laboratory work (preferred).
• Strong problem‑identification and troubleshooting abilities.
• Team‑oriented, communicative, flexible and reliable.
• Eligibility to work in the EU (citizenship, permanent residency or valid work permit).

Required skills

• Next‑Generation Sequencing (NGS) techniques.
