Senior Python/Django Developer (Wagtail)

About the role

DEPT® is seeking a Senior Python Developer with deep expertise in Django and Wagtail to lead impactful projects for global brands. You will work in a hybrid setting across Zagreb, Split, and Skopje, collaborating with cross‑functional sprint teams to deliver high‑quality digital products.

Key responsibilities

• Identify, evaluate, and implement optimal technical solutions that align with client goals and long‑term sustainability.
• Own projects from concept through delivery, proactively managing risks and improving processes.
• Shape system architecture, ensure code quality, and maintain robust, scalable APIs used by multiple third parties.
• Mentor junior and mid‑level developers, conduct code reviews, and foster a collaborative team environment.
• Work closely with front‑end developers, designers, and external partners to deliver integrated solutions.

Required profile

• Minimum 4 years of Python backend development experience, preferably in an agency or product environment.
• Strong track record designing, building, and maintaining scalable APIs and complex system integrations.
• Proven ability to own end‑to‑end project delivery and suggest process improvements.
• Excellent communication skills in English, capable of explaining technical decisions to both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
