About the role

The Croatian Financial Services Supervisory Agency (HANFA) is seeking a qualified legal professional to act as a Supervisor – Legal Advisor (Executive) within its Insurance Supervision Directorate. The role involves providing legal support for supervisory activities, ensuring compliance with national and EU regulations, and contributing to the development of supervisory procedures.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct or lead legal analysis of the lawfulness of supervised entities' operations.
• Draft and review minutes, decisions, opinions, administrative acts and other legal documents within supervisory competence.
• Participate in preparing opinions on the application of laws and subordinate regulations.
• Monitor legislative and regulatory changes, propose adjustments to supervisory practices.
• Collaborate with actuaries, analysts and inspectors to produce supervisory findings and reports.
• Assist in licensing and other administrative procedures of the Directorate.
• Support complex cases or inspections with legal expertise.
• Lead thematic projects or coordinate legal aspects of sector activities when required.
• Prepare training materials, presentations and deliver education sessions.

Required profile

• Completed university law degree (pre‑graduate + graduate) with at least 300 ECTS points.
• Minimum 2 years of relevant professional experience after graduation.
• Active knowledge of English.
• Good command of MS Office.
• Passed the State Exam (II level) – candidates without it may be hired conditionally.
