Export Control Manager

About the role

The Export Control Manager will ensure compliance with EU and Croatian export control regulations for goods, software, technology and services. The role supports internal departments and acts as the main liaison with authorities and group functions.

Key responsibilities

• Review, classify and document assessments of items under EU and Croatian export control law.
• Prepare, submit and manage export, transfer, brokering, transit and licensing procedures, including end‑user and end‑use verification.
• Develop and maintain an Internal Compliance Programme with transaction reviews, audits and corrective actions.
• Conduct sanctions, embargo, end‑use and end‑user checks and assess diversion and re‑export risks.
• Advise engineering, sales, procurement, project management, logistics, quality and legal/compliance teams.
• Interface with Croatian authorities, Rheinmetall group functions and external stakeholders.
• Support authority inspections, internal audits and training sessions in Croatian and English.

Required profile

• University degree in law, economics, international relations, foreign trade, logistics, engineering or comparable qualification.
• Several years of experience in export control, foreign trade, customs, defense compliance or a regulated industry.
• Strong knowledge of Regulation (EU) 2021/821 and Croatian dual‑use, armaments and defense product regulations.
• Fluent in Croatian and English; German is an advantage.
• Independent, structured and conscientious work style with strong communication skills.

• Implementation of Internal Compliance Programme (ICP) including training and audits.
