Senior Quality Engineer

About the role

Solflare, a Solana self-custody wallet with around 4 million users, is hiring a Senior Quality Engineer in Zagreb. This is not a traditional testing role: the candidate owns the testing strategy and quality mindset across the whole product, from feature design to release, working with Product, Engineering and Data. The position is full-time.

Key responsibilities

• Own the testing strategy for each feature, choosing validation at each layer (unit, component, integration, API, golden, E2E, accessibility, performance, security, manual, exploratory).
• Join discovery and specification reviews early, clarifying assumptions, edge cases, risks and dependencies.
• Design test cases covering user journeys, happy paths, edge cases, error handling, recovery and regression.
• Give developers test suites, regression packs, environments and mock data so they can validate their own work.
• Run structured test execution plus mandatory exploratory testing, and maintain a live view of test coverage per feature.
• Improve automation and reduce flakiness and repetitive manual regression, and bring AI/LLM tools into the workflow.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• Senior-level QA experience owning quality for real features or products, with accountability for outcomes.
• Genuine ownership and proactivity, and a user- and product-first way of thinking.
• Comfort with the shift-left approach to quality.

Required skills

• Hands-on automation tools such as WebdriverIO, Patrol, Selenium, Cypress, Appium or Playwright.
• Backend tests (API, unit, database) and RESTful service testing with Postman or similar.
• CI/CD platforms such as Jenkins or GitHub Actions.
• Nice to have: web3 or fintech experience, multi-layer testing (API, integration, golden, performance, accessibility) and security testing.
