About the role

KONČAR d.d. is looking for a Development Engineer – Specialist to join its R&D team in Zagreb. You will work on medium‑voltage switchgear and high‑voltage GIS installations, contributing to innovative product development in the power sector.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop new medium‑voltage switchgear devices for KONČAR.
• Improve and upgrade high‑voltage GIS plants up to 145 kV.
• Perform engineering analyses and calculations, including mechanical, thermal, electromagnetic and insulation studies.
• Prepare technical documentation for development projects.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams (design, testing, technology, production, procurement).

Required profile

• University degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (preferred focus: construction, energy, electrical machines).
• Proficiency with Microsoft 365.
• Willingness to work in a development environment and continuously learn.
• Analytical mindset, responsibility and teamwork skills.
• Interest in medium/high‑voltage switchgear, mechanical/thermal or electromagnetic calculations, and insulation systems.
