Freelance Senior Clinical Research Associate

About the role

Join TFS HealthScience as a Freelance Senior Clinical Research Associate, working remotely from Croatia within the Ophthalmology team. You will support unmasked monitoring activities, ensuring protocol compliance, data quality and participant safety across clinical studies.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor clinical trials on‑site and remotely according to SOPs, GCP and ICH guidelines.
• Verify informed consent, source documentation, investigational product accountability and site file compliance.
• Prepare detailed monitoring visit reports, track corrective actions and update CTMS and eTMF systems.
• Assist with audit/inspection preparation, supply management and project tracking as needed.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in life sciences or nursing (or equivalent).
• Minimum 5 years of independent on‑site monitoring experience, including at least 1 year as an unmasked monitor.
• At least 1 year of ophthalmology experience, preferably in retina indications.
• Fluent in English and the local language, with strong communication and organizational skills.

Required skills

• Good Clinical Practice (GCP) knowledge.
• ICH guideline familiarity.
• Experience with Clinical Trial Management Systems (CTMS) and electronic Trial Master File (eTMF) platforms.
