ESG & GHG Accounting Associate

About the role

PwC is seeking an ESG & GHG Accounting Associate to join its Zagreb ESG team. The role supports clients in meeting ESG regulatory requirements and developing carbon accounting solutions, offering exposure to a variety of industries and international projects.

Key responsibilities

• Assist clients in complying with ESG regulations such as CSRD, EU Taxonomy and the GHG Protocol.
• Develop GHG inventories (Scope 1, 2, 3) and support carbon accounting methodology design.
• Analyse ESG and emissions data to identify trends and improvement opportunities.
• Help design and implement ESG reporting frameworks, processes and controls.
• Support decarbonisation strategies and climate transition planning.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional and international teams on ESG engagements.

Required profile

• University degree (or final‑year student) in a relevant field; engineering or environmental science degree is a plus.
• Strong interest in ESG, climate change and GHG accounting.
• Analytical mindset with ability to work with data.
• Fluency in English; Croatian is a plus.
• Motivation to specialise in carbon accounting and ESG regulatory topics.

Required skills

• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
