About the role

The Chief Executive Officer provides visionary leadership for WWF Adria, steering the organization toward measurable conservation impact, financial sustainability, and strategic influence across eight countries in the region.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement WWF Adria’s regional strategy, ensuring delivery of conservation outcomes.
• Position WWF Adria as a leading voice on nature, influencing policy, governance and investment decisions.
• Lead a high‑performing, inclusive regional team, overseeing governance, operational excellence and staff engagement.
• Secure and diversify funding from public, private and philanthropic sources.
• Build and strengthen strategic partnerships across the region and contribute to global WWF priorities.
• Maintain the highest standards of legal compliance, ethics, safeguarding and transparency.

Required profile

• Proven senior leadership experience, preferably in a multi‑country or regional organization.
• Demonstrated success in fundraising, resource mobilization and financial management.
• Strong ability to influence policy and engage diverse stakeholders including governments, donors and civil society.
• Deep understanding of conservation, biodiversity and sustainable development issues.
• Excellent governance, risk and compliance expertise.
• Commitment to inclusive, collaborative leadership.
