IT Security Engineer – Focus on SIEM & SOC (German speaking)

About the role

We are looking for an experienced IT Security Engineer to join our team in Zagreb. The role focuses on SIEM and SOC activities and requires fluency in German and English.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and operate our SIEM solution, configuring dashboards, searches, alerts, use cases and reports.
• Analyze large volumes of security data to detect incidents, mitigate impact and recommend preventive measures.
• Perform risk assessments and evaluate the security of new hardware, software and services during procurement.
• Support security audits, prepare audit reports and technical documentation.
• Participate in the implementation of IT security measures across the STRABAG Group.

Required profile

• Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Informatics or a comparable field, or equivalent qualification.
• Minimum 3 years of hands‑on experience in a Security Operations Center (SOC) with a focus on SIEM, monitoring, incident detection and response.
• Ability to understand and investigate network traffic across on‑premise, remote and cloud environments.
• Proficiency in English and German, with strong analytical and communication skills.
