Commercial Product Manager

About the role

We are an international company distributing renowned Italian FMCG food brands across the Adriatic region. The role is based in our Croatian subsidiary and is responsible for overseeing the commercial and financial performance of an assigned product portfolio.

Key responsibilities

• Full P&L ownership – monitor profit, loss, gross margin and distribution costs.
• Pricing and cost calculations – develop price structures, calculate import and logistics expenses, and control commercial discounts for retail chains.
• Inventory forecasting – accurately predict sales, manage optimal stock levels and turnover ratios to minimise waste.
• Budget and ROI management – allocate and control in‑store promotion spend, flyers and campaigns while tracking return on investment.
• Principal relationship – maintain regular business and financial communication with Italian manufacturers and report sales results.
• Collaboration with sales – work closely with the Key Account Management team on commercial terms and shelf positioning.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years of experience in commercial roles within the FMCG sector (procurement, trade marketing, controlling or product/category management).
• Advanced proficiency in MS Excel, especially pivot tables, complex formulas and large‑data analysis.
• Strong financial literacy – understanding of margin, rebates, on‑invoice/off‑invoice concepts and logistics costs.
• Excellent spoken and written English (C1); knowledge of Italian is a strong plus.
• Valid B‑category driving licence and willingness to travel occasionally.
