Category Manager (IT)

About the role

Links is looking for a Category Manager who understands the IT industry, thinks commercially and wants to shape the product offering, results and development of a dedicated category.

Key responsibilities

• Define and implement category development strategy focusing on profitability, market share and innovation.
• Monitor IT market trends, propose new products, brands and configurations.
• Determine assortment and positioning across all sales channels.
• Analyze market, pricing and competition; recommend corrective actions.
• Negotiate terms, prices and availability with suppliers and build long‑term relationships.
• Collaborate with marketing, sales and e‑commerce teams on promotions and product launches.
• Order goods, maintain optimal inventory levels and create accurate procurement documentation.
• Provide internal availability updates and support sales teams.
• Generate internal and external reports on sales, stock and product performance.
• Work closely with the production team on Links and Epoch computers, define components, configurations and price tiers, and participate in testing and optimisation.

Required profile

• 1–3 years of experience in category management, procurement or technical sales within the IT sector.
• Passion for computer components and deep knowledge of PC industry trends.
• Strong analytical and strategic thinking with proven negotiation skills.
• Excellent command of MS Office, especially Excel.
• Active English language skills (spoken and written).
• Higher education, preferably technical or economic.
• High level of responsibility, independence and accuracy.
