Backend Development Team Lead

About the role

We are expanding Aircash Development in Split and need a Backend Development Team Lead to build and lead the new backend team. You will hire, mentor, and actively code, shaping engineering culture and technical direction from day one.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, mentor and grow the .NET backend engineering team in Split.
• Participate in hiring, onboarding and fostering a strong team culture of ownership and collaboration.
• Translate priorities into clear delivery plans, monitor progress, surface risks and remove blockers.
• Collaborate with product and QA to refine requirements and deliver high‑quality features.
• Guide architecture and technical decisions, ensuring alignment with Aircash standards and code quality.
• Contribute to design and implementation, review critical changes and solve complex technical problems.
• Monitor system health, logging and performance to keep services reliable and observable.
• Stay current with new technologies and introduce best practices to the team.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading, mentoring or managing software engineers.
• 5+ years of professional .NET development experience.
• Strong understanding of backend architecture, microservices, RESTful APIs and asynchronous processing.
• Experience with distributed systems, messaging platforms (e.g., Azure Service Bus) and event‑driven architectures.
• Excellent communication, collaboration and problem‑solving skills.
