About the role

The Occupational Safety Specialist Level II will support Altpro d.o.o. in implementing and improving workplace safety across construction sites and railway‑related projects. The role combines advisory, monitoring, and investigative tasks to ensure compliance with Croatian safety legislation.

Key responsibilities

• Provide expert advice to the employer, authorized representatives and workers on occupational safety matters.
• Monitor and control the application of legal regulations, rules and acts from the Occupational Safety Act (ZNR) and the Construction Act (ZOP).
• Maintain records of non‑conformities, incidents, injuries, inspections, corrective and preventive actions.
• Report incidents, participate in investigations and implement preventive measures.
• Organise timely safety training and first‑aid courses; keep training records for staff and contractors.
• Assist in drafting internal safety policies, risk assessments, evacuation plans and fire‑protection documentation.
• Develop procedures and work instructions; supervise their implementation.
• Oversee safety measures on temporary construction sites and low‑level infrastructure projects.
• Control safety during earthworks, excavations and operation of construction machinery.
• Coordinate and supervise subcontractors, verify required documentation and compliance with safety regulations.
• Prepare objective reports on safety gaps and non‑compliance.
• Collaborate with labor inspection authorities and occupational health specialists.

Required profile

• University degree in Safety / Occupational Protection.
• Professional exam in occupational safety (general and special part) and fire protection.
• Completed andragogy course.
• Certification for alcohol‑testing.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience.
• Experience preparing work execution plans and EHS plans.
• Active English proficiency (minimum B2).
• Valid B‑category driving licence.
