Senior Embedded Software Engineer (m/f)

About the role

PICO FLOW CONTROLS d.o.o. (PFC), a regional engineering and manufacturing company with 30 years of experience in the energy sector, process industry and industrial automation, is looking for an experienced engineer to design and develop firmware and embedded software for its own industrial devices (such as eLBC systems and RIKI calibration units). The work is based in Sv. Križ Začretje, near Zagreb.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain firmware and embedded software in C/C++, focusing on stability, performance and long-term maintainability.
• Develop software architecture and implement solutions from the first phase through integration and testing on target hardware.
• Integrate communication interfaces (SPI, I2C, CAN, UART) for sensors, actuators and industrial peripherals.
• Take part in code and architecture reviews and give technical feedback to electronics engineers and the production plant.
• Create technical documentation and manage software revisions with Git.

Required profile

• Multi-year proven experience in embedded software/firmware development in C/C++.
• Deep understanding of microcontroller architectures such as STM32, SAM or ESP.
• Excellent hands-on knowledge of SPI, I2C, CAN and UART.
• Experience bringing up firmware, debugging and validating code on physical hardware.
• Ability to read hardware schematics and knowledge of digital electronics fundamentals.
• Hands-on debugging with JTAG, SWD, oscilloscopes and logic analyzers.
• Proficiency in technical English, written and spoken.
