About the role

We are expanding our team in Zagreb and are looking for an independent accountant to independently manage the full spectrum of accounting and bookkeeping tasks, including transactions with foreign partners and compliance with tax regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Perform end‑to‑end accounting and bookkeeping independently.
• Handle accounting for transactions with foreign customers and suppliers, ensuring compliance with legal regulations.
• Post URA and IRA entries.
• Calculate VAT, VAT‑S, and ZP, and reconcile accounting items with customers, suppliers and the Tax Administration.
• Manage inventory accounting, control and reconcile stock levels.
• Maintain the general ledger and reconcile it with subsidiary ledgers.
• Record fixed assets, both tangible and intangible, and calculate depreciation.

Required profile

• Completed secondary or higher education in economics.
• Strong knowledge of accounting and tax regulations, especially the VAT Law.
• Relevant work experience in similar accounting roles.
• Advanced computer skills, particularly MS Office.
• Analytical mindset, precision, timeliness and reliability.
• Problem‑solving ability and willingness to share knowledge.
• Good command of English.
