Project Controls Engineer

About the role

We are seeking a Civil Engineer to join our team as a Project Controls Engineer on design‑and‑build water and wastewater projects. The role blends engineering insight, cost control and daily collaboration with the project team from early design through construction completion.

Key responsibilities

• Participate in project development and cost optimisation during the design phase, preparing and updating work estimates.
• Conduct regular site visits during construction to monitor progress, identify scope deviations, quantity overruns and risks, and communicate findings to project management.
• Prepare monthly project reports comparing target vs. actual cost, revenue and work progress, and analyse baseline deviations.
• Determine and control budget values for subcontractor and supplier proposals and variation orders.
• Support risk evaluation, claims preparation and variation order analysis.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Civil Engineering.
• Minimum 5 years of on‑site construction experience in operational management.
• At least 3 years in a project controlling or cost control role on construction projects.
• Experience in water or wastewater projects is a strong advantage.
• Valid Category B driving licence and willingness to conduct regular site visits.
• Good command of English.

Required skills

• Proficient use of iTWO or similar estimation software.
• Advanced Excel for analysis of large project data sets.
• Familiarity with MS Project.
• Knowledge of FIDIC Design & Build contract conditions.
• Understanding of BIM concepts.
