Procurement Specialist

About the role

The Procurement Specialist will manage and execute procurement activities for minor CAPEX and OPEX at the Rijeka Gateway container terminal, ensuring compliance with shareholder policies and supporting uninterrupted terminal operations.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate CAPEX procurement processes with shareholders’ corporate procurement organisation.
• Procure inventory, non‑inventory supplies, services and capital goods, negotiating price, delivery and credit terms.
• Evaluate vendors, determine cost‑effective inventory levels, and maintain transparent controls.
• Prepare purchase requisitions, issue purchase orders, and manage contracts with legal counsel.
• Develop purchasing strategies, monitor stock levels, and ensure timely deliveries to avoid operational downtime.
• Track and report functional metrics, perform cost analysis, benchmarking and spend savings reporting.
• Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of market trends, pricing, supplier capabilities and technology.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years of procurement experience, preferably in transport, logistics or container terminal environments.
• Strong analytical, planning and stakeholder‑management skills.
• High discipline, quality awareness and ability to build strong working relationships.
• Advanced verbal and written communication skills in English and Croatian.
• University degree in economics, business management, accounting or a related discipline.
