Presales Thermal Engineer – HVAC Design (AMER)

About the role

Vertiv Croatia is looking for an AMER Presales Thermal Engineer to support the design and sales of HVAC solutions for data centre projects. You will work closely with solution architects, sales teams and customers to translate requirements into robust, code‑compliant thermal designs.

Key responsibilities

• Read and interpret RFPs, tender documents and customer requirements.
• Develop concept HVAC architecture and equipment specifications.
• Produce CAD models and layout drawings for HVAC systems.
• Coordinate with architectural, structural, electrical, controls and fire‑protection disciplines.
• Lead technical project coordination with customers and suppliers.
• Prepare technical proposals for Vertiv modular/hybrid data‑centre solutions.
• Provide complete HVAC design documentation and support sales teams.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 3 years of professional experience in HVAC system design.
• Strong written and oral communication skills in English (minimum B2).
• Ability to work across multiple engineering and manufacturing teams.

Required skills

• HVAC system design and equipment dimensioning.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD for layout and schematic diagrams.
• Experience using CFD tools for thermal modelling.
• Advanced PC skills: Windows, MS Office (Excel, Word).
