About the role

We are seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer / Development Engineer to join our team in Split. The position focuses on creating new mechanical products and components, improving existing designs, and guiding them through series production.

Key responsibilities

  • Develop new products, mechanical components and process solutions.
  • Continuously improve existing products and transfer them to series production.
  • Perform 3D parametric modelling of assemblies, sub‑assemblies and parts (sheet metal, welded structures, mechanisms).
  • Create technical drawings according to ISO/GD&T standards, including tolerances, machining and surface protection.
  • Generate and maintain structured BOMs, item coding and variant management.
  • Carry out mechanical calculations and dimensioning (strength, shafts, bearings, threaded and welded joints, drive calculations) and basic FEM analysis.
  • Support production and procurement with technical clarifications, deviation approvals and change requests.
  • Apply DFM/DFA principles to simplify manufacturing, standardise components and optimise costs.
  • Coordinate prototyping, define test plans and monitor testing activities.
  • Manage engineering changes (ECR/ECO) and work within a PDM/PLM system such as Autodesk Vault.
  • Select materials and standard components, prepare specifications and technical conditions.
  • Collaborate with electro‑automation and process engineering on subsystem integration.
  • Prepare technical documentation required for CE certification together with the machine safety team.

Required profile

  • Completed degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Experience in product development or mechanical design (preferred).
  • Proficiency in 3D CAD tools (e.g., Autodesk Inventor, SolidWorks).
  • Very good command of English; German is a plus.
  • Willingness to spend 6‑12 weeks onboarding at the headquarters in Germany and travel to client sites in Western Europe (1‑3 times per year).

  • Basic FEM analysis.
  • DFM/DFA optimisation.
  • PDM/PLM system usage (Autodesk Vault).
  • Mechanical calculations (strength, shafts, bearings, joints, drive).
  • BOM creation and management.
  • Material selection and specification.
  • Prototyping and testing coordination.
  • Engineering change management (ECR/ECO).
