Hardware Development Engineer (Power Electronics)

About the role

Vertiv is looking for a Hardware Development Engineer to join its Single Phase UPS R&D team in Zagreb. You will work on innovative projects in a group of skilled colleagues, developing low-power energy electronics circuits and helping ensure that products meet the highest standards of design and manufacturing quality. You will take part in the full product development process, from preparing engineering specifications to troubleshooting errors and resolving issues with delivered devices.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and design power converters based on GaN, SiC and Si technologies and control electronics
• Select and calculate components
• Test hardware components and prototypes, and analyse their operation and performance
• Prepare technical, material and component specifications
• Cooperate with power electronics, mechanical, software and testing teams
• Conduct electronics design reviews, create test specifications and procedures, and carry out design validation
• Support production, users and suppliers, and take part in debugging designs and devices

Required profile

• Degree in Electrical Engineering with a focus on power electronics
• Minimum 3 years of experience
• English at least B2 level

Required skills

• Altium Designer or similar tools
• Signal integrity analysis
• DSP or FPGA hardware design
• Communication protocols such as SPI, I2C and CAN
• PSIM, PLECS and/or LTSpice simulation tools
• Knowledge of power and analog-digital electronics
