Global Technical Manager – Business Assurance Certification

About the role

The Global Technical Manager provides senior technical and accreditation leadership for the Business Assurance Certification business, setting and enforcing the technical framework, accreditation strategy, and certification policies across the SGS affiliate network.

Key responsibilities

• Set the global technical and accreditation strategy for Business Assurance Certification in consultation with senior leadership.
• Lead and manage global technical and accreditation functions, overseeing product, technical and accreditation specialists across multiple countries.
• Define, approve and enforce global certification policies, technical requirements, accreditation controls and operating standards.
• Provide authoritative technical direction, making final decisions on disputes, interpretation issues or material compliance risks.
• Manage strategic relationships with global and local Accreditation Bodies, ensuring confidence in SGS integrity and competence.
• Lead investigations and corrective action governance for material technical, accreditation or integrity failures.
• Drive simplification, digitalisation and continuous improvement of technical processes and delivery models.

Required profile

• Graduate-level qualification or equivalent professional experience in a relevant technical, scientific, engineering or governance discipline.
• Minimum 10 years of certification and/or accreditation experience, including substantial global or multi‑region leadership.
• Proven experience leading geographically dispersed, culturally diverse technical teams.
• Strong technical command of management system certification and accreditation requirements (e.g., impartiality, competence, audit delivery).
• Fluent written and spoken English with ability to communicate complex technical requirements to senior leaders.
