Design Control Engineer – Building Management Systems

About the role

The Design Control Engineer will lead the end‑to‑end design and documentation of Building Management Systems (BMS) for Vertiv’s modular data centers and large‑scale AI factories. The role combines electrical engineering expertise with hands‑on coordination of suppliers, integrators and site teams to ensure compliant, high‑quality solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Develop conceptual and detailed BMS designs for modular data center and AI factory solutions.
• Create electrical project documentation such as riser diagrams, I/O lists, functional diagrams, sequence of operations, fire‑alarm and security system drawings.
• Coordinate with project teams, BMS integrators, subcontractors and site managers throughout design, procurement, testing and commissioning phases.
• Generate and review Bill of Materials, material submittals, and required certifications; support suppliers during bidding and offer evaluation.
• Participate in kick‑off meetings, regular project reviews, internal testing, FAT and on‑site commissioning across the EMEA region.

Required profile

• Electrical engineering degree with a focus on automation.
• Fluent English communication skills.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD, EPLAN, MS Office and CodeSys/CODESYS.
• Strong problem‑solving ability, independent work style and attention to detail.
