Cruising Instructor – Summer Mediterranean

About the role

Sunsail, part of the Travelopia Group, delivers sailing holidays and offers RYA qualifications from RYA Start Yachting to RYA Day Skipper. It is recruiting cruising instructors based in Greece and Croatia to work in the Mediterranean during the summer, with full-season roles available; winter opportunities may follow successful summer placements. Working hours vary and you must be able to cover operational requirements, moving between resorts or departments and occasionally covering a flotilla or bareboat skipper role.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver RYA courses in line with RYA regulations and company standards, and company-specific courses as per standards, policies and procedures.
• Assist with the flotilla hero product, instructing while taking part in the flotilla.
• Meet and greet guests and give a welcome brief on board.
• Carry out basic yacht maintenance and liaise with the Chief Instructor, reporting maintenance problems or damage.
• Keep the sailing school yachts to a high standard throughout the season, including cleaning, inventory monitoring and maintenance.
• Complete paperwork accurately in line with local laws and regulations, and provide excellent customer service.
• Perform other duties requested by the line manager.

Required profile

• RYA Cruising Instructor commercially endorsed with a valid medical certificate (ENG1/ML5).
• Valid First Aid Certificate or equivalent.
• Recent criminal record check (ACRO or DBS).
• Experience in a customer-focused environment.
• Flexible, reliable and adaptable, able to work under pressure and make difficult decisions.

Required skills
