AML/CFT Analyst specializing in KYC/KYB and Transaction Monitoring (m/f)

About the role
We are looking for an AML/CFT Analyst who will focus on KYC/KYB reviews and transaction monitoring to help protect the company against financial crime. The role is based in Zagreb and works closely with compliance, operations and customer support teams.
Key responsibilities
- Conduct KYC and KYB reviews to verify customer identity, business information, ownership structures, and risk profiles.
- Perform customer due diligence (CDD) and enhanced due diligence (EDD) in line with AML/CFT requirements.
- Review and analyse transaction activity to identify suspicious behaviour, unusual patterns, and potential financial crime risks.
- Investigate alerts generated by transaction monitoring systems and document findings.
- Perform sanctions, PEP, and adverse media screening and assess potential compliance risks.
- Escalate suspicious activities and high‑risk cases according to internal policies and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain accurate case records, investigation notes, and compliance documentation.
- Support customer onboarding processes by ensuring timely and accurate compliance reviews.
- Collaborate with Compliance, Operations, Customer Support, and other teams to resolve risk‑related matters.
- Assist with internal audits, regulatory reviews, and compliance reporting.
- Identify opportunities to improve AML/CFT processes, workflows, and monitoring effectiveness.
- Stay informed about regulatory changes, emerging financial crime trends, and industry best practices.
Required profile
- Minimum 1 year of experience in AML/CFT, KYC/KYB, compliance, financial crime prevention, banking, fintech or cryptocurrency‑related operations.
- Strong understanding of AML/CFT regulations, CDD, EDD and risk assessment processes.
- Experience reviewing individual and corporate customer profiles, ownership structures and supporting documentation.
- Ability to analyse transaction activity, identify suspicious patterns and appropriately escalate risks.
- Strong analytical skills, attention to detail and ability to make risk‑based decisions.
- Knowledge of sanctions screening, PEP checks, adverse media checks and transaction monitoring processes.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Ability to work collaboratively with internal teams and manage multiple cases in a fast‑paced environment.
