Accounting Specialist (m/f) – Hotel Group

About the role

Milenij Hoteli d.o.o., a hotel group based in Opatija, is looking for an accounting specialist (m/f) to join its finance team. The role covers the preparation and control of accounting records, including bank reconciliations, and works closely with colleagues from finance and other departments.

Key responsibilities

• Check the accuracy, completeness and authenticity of accounting documents (bank reconciliation)
• Independently process, check and book incoming and outgoing invoices, bank statements, cards, vouchers and compensations
• Reconcile auxiliary ledgers, including material accounting, customer and supplier balances and cash handling
• Process and record internal business documents
• Ensure accounting records are accurate, up to date and timely
• Work with colleagues from finance, accounting and other departments on reliable recording of business events
• Help improve accounting processes, internal controls and the quality of financial data
• Carry out other professional and administrative accounting tasks

Required profile

• At least a secondary school diploma in economics; candidates with a university degree in economics or accounting are preferred
• At least 5 years of experience independently performing accounting work
• Good knowledge of accounting procedures, records and current accounting and tax regulations
• High level of independence, responsibility and organisation, with strong analytical and precise attention to detail
• Proactive, problem-solving approach and good communication skills and teamwork
• English is an advantage

Required skills

• Good command of the MS Office suite, especially Excel
• Experience with accounting software and business information systems
