Accountant (part-time, fixed-term) – Zagreb

About the role

We are looking for a diligent Accountant to join the Croatian branch of an international energy, oil and gas exploration company. The position is part‑time (4 hours per day) on a fixed‑term basis (6‑12 months) with the possibility of becoming permanent.

Key responsibilities

• Verify statutory accuracy of incoming and outgoing invoices.
• Prepare accounts‑receivable invoices using the electronic invoicing platform.
• Post invoices, travel expense reports and other journal entries in SAP.
• Apply local VAT rules, reconcile VAT, and file monthly VAT reports.
• Submit monthly statistical reports to the National Bank and Intrastat reports.
• Maintain intercompany transaction accuracy and the Fixed Asset ledger, including depreciation calculations.
• Ensure compliance with local tax and accounting legislation.
• Assist in preparing reports for the Croatian Hydrocarbon Agency.
• Support audits and the preparation of financial statements.
• Participate in the monthly closing process and produce regular and ad‑hoc analyses.

Required profile

• Qualified in finance or accounting.
• Highly self‑reliant, as the sole accountant for the Croatian branch (backed by external accounting).
• Service‑oriented and detail‑focused.
• Strong analytical, numeracy and financial awareness.

Required skills

• User‑level proficiency in MS Office.
• Experience with SAP (advantageous).
