Tooling Technician I – Injection Molding

About the role

The Tooling Technician I is responsible for assembling, maintaining, repairing and optimizing high‑precision injection molding tools used in medical plastic production. The role ensures tool readiness, production continuity and compliance with quality and regulatory standards.

Key responsibilities

• Assemble, disassemble and re‑assemble complex injection molding tools, including three‑plate, multi‑shot and multi‑cavity molds, ensuring proper fit and alignment.
• Diagnose faults, perform corrective and preventive maintenance, and troubleshoot tool‑related issues on injection molding machines.
• Support Design for Manufacturing (DFM) discussions and improve tool reliability, cycle time and serviceability.
• Assist NPI activities, conduct validation (IQ/OQ/PQ) and perform self‑inspection before tool release.
• Maintain compliance with quality systems, documentation and traceability of all work performed.
• Provide on‑the‑job training and mentorship to junior technicians.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 5 years experience in tooling or tool‑room environment, preferably with complex injection molds.
• Strong problem‑solving ability, high attention to detail and ability to work under pressure.
