Presales Mid Thermal Engineer – Data Center HVAC

About the role

We are looking for a Presales Mid Thermal Engineer to join Vertiv’s Zagreb team, focusing on HVAC design for data centre and critical infrastructure projects. The role combines technical design, customer interaction and cross‑disciplinary coordination to deliver efficient cooling solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Concept design of data centre HVAC systems, including direct expansion, chilled water, evaporative cooling, AHU and ventilation.
• Design and specification of liquid cooling technologies such as RDHx, direct‑to‑chip and immersion cooling.
• Perform energy optimisation calculations (PUE, DCIE, CUE, WUE) and CFD analysis.
• Coordinate with architectural, structural, electrical, controls and fire‑protection disciplines.
• Interpret RFP and tender documents, prepare technical quotations and support presales activities.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in HVAC system design for data centres or similar facilities.
• Proficiency in English (minimum B2 level) and strong written and oral communication.

Required skills

• HVAC system design (direct expansion, chilled water, evaporative cooling, AHU).
• Liquid cooling technologies (RDHx, direct‑to‑chip, immersion).
• Energy optimisation metrics (PUE, DCIE, CUE, WUE).
• CFD analysis (basic knowledge).
• AutoCAD.
• Microsoft Windows, Excel and Word.
