Electrical Design Engineer – Power & Control Systems

About the role

PIA Automation Croatia is looking for an Electrical Design Engineer to join its Zagreb team. You will be responsible for creating reliable power‑supply, control and safety circuit designs for special machines and industrial facilities.

Key responsibilities

• Evaluate project requirements and develop conceptual designs.
• Create electrical and fluid schematics using EPLAN P8.
• Specify hardware components and ensure compliance with industry standards.
• Collaborate with clients, suppliers and internal departments.
• Provide on‑site support during assembly and commissioning.
• Prepare technical documentation for each project.

Required profile

• Technical education in electrical, control or automation engineering (e.g., TVZ, FER, VUB).
• At least 1 year of experience in electrical design for special‑machine or industrial projects (automotive preferred).
• Ability to work independently and within a team.
• Flexibility, creativity and a solution‑oriented mindset.
• Fluent English; German is a plus.
• Willingness to travel occasionally to customer sites or other PIA locations.

Required skills

• EPLAN (ELCAD) – preferably EPLAN P8.
